an excerpt from an e-mail

I just began classes this week. Prague is nice, despite the cold and the unfriendly natives here. I've been meeting a lot of cool NYU kids here though. I'm going to Rome next weekend with some friends. FAMU - the film school here in Prague - is great. Some of the teachers are a bit strange but some are really smart and friendly. They sort of treat us like babies here. Like we Americans know nothing about cinema or filmmaking. Anyway, I'm working on a studio project being shot on 35mm. It'll be my first professional film. Other than that, I've just been trying to keep warm in tea rooms and cinematheques. Reading a bunch and writing in my journal.
