New York City (Day Two)

Greetings from New York again! Today was our first full day in town and boy did we ever used it to our advantage. We walked all over lower Manhattan. My legs are dead, but I had a great time and I couldn't ask for better people to be with. So let us begin our adventure...

We kinda go off to a late start. I woke up around 12:30p.m. and Edgar and I didn't meet up with Toko and Peter till about 1ish (I'm sure they were just as tired as I was. Probably even more since they take a forty-five minute bus/train ride to get from Queens to Manhattan). But we met up and go some bagels from this really great bagel place called H&H. The place was full of people so we walked a couple of blocks to this place where we sat and ate....
Then we were off...We took the metro to Downtown Manhattan. Here Toko notices a surprising similarity between his Big Black hat and the tiles in the subway exiting for the Brooklyn Bridge...
We walked almost all over the financial district. We saw St. Paul's church, the World Trade Center site, and crazy homeless people...Here we're inside the World Financial Center taking a break. We talk about 9/11, the city, cranes, skyscrapers, etc.
The we walked some more...Jesus, we walked so much...But here we're walking along the Hudson River. The weather was nice, slightly on the cold side, but the conditions were perfect for walking (tomorrow it's suppose to rain). We could see the Statue of Liberty from where we were but my camera's zoom is way to weak so there's no picture of that...
Then we walked the Brooklyn Bridge, which was probably the highlight of my day...
Our goal (in one word): Cheesecake...The view from the Brooklyn Bridge was pretty breathtaking...We had a great view of Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, and a pretty nice one of the Midtown and the Upper Eastside

Yeah...We ask someone to take our picture (we are tourist, after all)The story behind going to Brooklyn for cheesecake is that Toko told us about this place called Junior's where they supposedly have amazing cheesecake...When we crossed the bridge, we were a little lost and where Junior's is, but fortunately for us, Toko had this theory that every cop HAD to know where Junior's is since their food is so good...Toko asked every cop we saw to prove Toko's theory and surely enough...every cop (about four or five that we saw within three blocks) pointed us in the correct direction...
They had a lot of cheesecake...
We sat down and the place is uber-nice and classy with a old-tarnish look...and yes, their cheesecake was amazing. Hands down the best I have ever eaten (and I love my cheesecake)...
After, we took the metro back to Manhattan...Where within five minutes Toko and Peter instantly fell asleep on the train...
It was around 7 where we walked around Chinatown and Little Italy...We didn't really see a whole lot because just about everyone except me had some "stomach problems" (which we all agreed on that it wasn't the cheesecake from Junior's but the hotdogs that we got before we crossed the bridge, that got everyone sick)...

Sorry there aren't any pictures of this because we were rushed trying to look for a public restroom.

The plan was to go to Macy's but Toko and Peter couldn't wait and ran off...Edgar was probably hurting the most (almost all day) from a bad stomach ache, that was later cured miraculously by Sprite.

We went in to Macy's (which is HUGE, the size of a whole block) just while they were closing...Edgar and I quickly lost Toko in there and subsequently lost Peter too...It took forever to reunite the olde gang but when we did, we agreed we should head back to the Chakarian home...

We rested, watched TV, rested some more, then got Pizza at a local Pizzeria and then Edgar and I dropped Toko and Peter off at the subway...Then that pretty much ended our very long tiring day.

Until next time...See you later

(Oh, and by the way, I've also been taking some pretty cool/funny videos here, except it's difficult for me to post videos on this blog so that'll just have to wait till I get home...)

Toko's jacket is actually Edgar's...and it's freakin' baller! Plus with the cold, he's the warmest and most comfortable.
